LSD + Cannabis

LSD + Cannabis: the short answerSmoking weed on LSD is one of the most reliable ways to turn a good trip into an anxious one — it intensifies everything, fast, and is a classic trigger for thought loops and panic. Physically low-risk, psychologically potent.

Why it’s dangerous

LSD's effects come through serotonin 5-HT2A signaling; THC amplifies altered thinking and can sharply increase the intensity and strangeness of the LSD state. The combination is notorious for triggering anxiety, paranoia, and looping thoughts even in people who use both drugs comfortably on their own, and the effect can come on within minutes of smoking.

What happens

  • Rapid, strong intensification of the trip
  • Thought loops — the same idea circling endlessly
  • Anxiety, paranoia, or a sense of losing control
  • Time distortion becoming distressing

Warning signs

  • Rising panic, inability to be reassured
  • Repetitive speech or behavior
  • The person asks repeatedly when it will end

What to do

  • Change the setting: quieter room, dimmer light, a calm familiar person
  • Remind them gently that it is the drug combination and it will pass
  • Seek medical help only if there is a risk of self-harm or panic becomes unmanageable
  • If you smoke on LSD anyway, use much less than your normal amount and wait for the peak to pass — and have a sober sitter
