DANGEROUS COMBINATION

MDMA + Stimulants

MDMA + Stimulants: the short answerCocaine, speed, or meth on top of MDMA doubles down on overheating, heart strain, and serotonin load — the combination drives body temperature and heart rate into the danger zone much faster than MDMA alone.

Why it’s dangerous

MDMA and other stimulants all raise heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature while suppressing the fatigue signals that would normally make you stop. Cocaine and amphetamines also add their own serotonin and dopamine pressure, increasing the risk of serotonin toxicity, overheating (hyperthermia), and heart rhythm problems — especially in hot, crowded settings with nonstop dancing.

What happens

  • Extreme stimulation: jaw clenching, tremor, inability to rest
  • Rapid overheating and dehydration
  • Racing or irregular heartbeat, chest pain
  • Anxiety, paranoia, and panic attacks
  • Higher risk of serotonin syndrome symptoms

Warning signs

  • Very hot skin, profuse or suddenly absent sweating
  • Confusion, agitation, or collapse
  • Chest pain, palpitations, or seizures

What to do

  • Call emergency services for collapse, seizures, chest pain, or confusion with high temperature
  • Cool the person actively: shade, cool water on skin, fan
  • Sip electrolyte fluids — do not force large amounts of plain water
  • Pick one stimulant per night, take breaks from dancing, and skip the 'booster' lines
