Tramadol vs Oxycodone

Tramadol (Ultram)
Opioids
VS

Oxycodone (Roxicodone 30 mg)
Opioids
Tramadol and oxycodone sit at opposite ends of the prescription-opioid strength chart. Oxycodone is roughly ten times stronger per milligram. But tramadol carries risks oxycodone doesn't — seizures and serotonin syndrome — so 'weaker' comes with its own fine print.

| Overdose danger | Seizures, serotonin syndrome with antidepressants; breathing slows at high dose | Breathing stops — the classic opioid overdose |
| Withdrawal | Opioid flu + brain zaps (two systems) | Opioid flu |

The verdict
Oxycodone is the more dangerous drug in pure overdose terms — it stops breathing at modest doses for a non-tolerant person. Tramadol is the trickier drug: it hides its opioid nature behind a mild feel, hooks people slowly, and punishes high doses or antidepressant combinations with seizures and serotonin syndrome. Different dangers, same rule: use only as prescribed, never mix with other depressants.
?Frequently asked questions
Which is worse for your liver?
Neither at normal doses. The bigger liver risk in this family is paracetamol, which is combined with many hydrocodone and codeine products — not with plain tramadol or oxycodone.
Can you take tramadol and oxycodone together?
Only if a doctor prescribes both — together they stack breathing depression. Never combine on your own.
